When Helping Hurts, in our resource page and on Right Now Media, teaches how important it is for us to know what we're trying to do when helping people in broken relationships. The person we're trying to help may be distanced between family, nature, or the Lord. When I see groups collecting sleeping bags, serving food on the street and giving blankets to the homeless my heart is thankful until I met a grandma who was arrested for having a sleeping bag. There is a law in Snohomish County where a homeless are being arrested for possessing camping materials and using them to sleep on the street or woods. The homeless problem is great. Instead of creating our own way to help, we are teaming up with ministries who are working within the law. Believe me, there are a lot of officials who are compassionate and also trying to work with the problem. Keep it in prayer. Again, before helping, please get to understand what help is needed and the laws around it, especially in regards to homelessness and incarcerated.

Facebook is one way Esther's Place keeps their ministry upfront. They are a day shelter for women in Everett who need food, clothing, shelter and a home to stay as transformation happens in their life. Kathy B. and Heidi give support on Thursday of Friday, depending on schedules. When large holiday meals happen for the community through Esther's Place the kids are welcome to come and serve together. Follow the Facebook link below.
JAIL AND RECOVERY - A place to serve through the church
Are you interested in being a pen pal with an inmate? Email inmates is a possible way to contact. Contact Kathy for more information. We participated in Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Program this year and appreciate prayer around this. We support inmates through letter writing, visits as time allows and connecting to programs giving support to the families. Pen Pal ministry is through Prisoners for Christ located in Woodinville, Washington.
