Involving our kids in ministry as we serve is important. Often people living in difficult life styles have been removed from the joy seen in the kids laughter, smiles, and joyful care. Introducing the kids to a lifestyle to "see" others needs is important too. Here are ways to include your children. - Kathy B.
- Covid is playing emotional havoc on families. Pray together for the family, friends and neighbors. Pray for leaders and teachers.
- Spend time talking about where you are going to serve "before and after" explain differences and similarities to help the kids be comfortable
- Ask kids what they think the people will like; a smile, a warm "hello", a card or drawing etc.
- "Go" because you enjoy going
- Teach boundaries and manners as you go to remember, this is someone's home.
- Remember the people at your family time, in prayer, and other times as the Lord brings them to your mind.
- When driving by homeless families. Include your kids in how to help by brainstorming, praying aloud, hear what they are seeing.

We are connecting our church with a local chapter of Safe Families. Trying to find the best way to start introducing this ministry during Covid has been difficult, though not impossible. Click this image to go to their webpage to begin to understand this local resource both as a helper and as a resource for families who need this support.
DELTA REHAB IS CLOSED
Not only has Delta closed, the patients and staff disbursed but the son who the Chalet was created to support also passed. It all happened in July 2020. Read this obituary reflecting the love a family had for their son flowing over into the community.
The Chalet will be missed may we follow these examples of serving others in tough times.

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN SEATTLE - Visits allowed for Kelly
What's happening during COVID?
Kelly has been asked to provide music for their program via videos he has made. As of November, 2020, Children's Hospital is still battling COVID trying to bring back relationships with volunteers. The volunteer coordinator contacted Kelly asking if he could be a part of live streaming in the kids rooms on Wednesday, sharing music and the love he has for kids.
He's very excited to get back, even through live streaming.
